Jake and I got the upper intake manifold, distributor, fuel rail, and wiring harness off.
But when we went to go take the lower intake manifold off, we realized every single bolt was snapping off in the block... Shit. I’m going back tomorrow morning before work and we’re going to drill it out.
But so far the rocker arms and valve springs look to be in pretty good condition for a 200,000 mile engine. I can’t wait to get a look at that block to see what condition it’s in

Looking good so far. I’m really curious to see if you have the roller cam in there or not. Get that lower intake off at all costs!
(Kidding, take your time)

I don’t know about the high roller cam, but judging by where the rocker arms were it’s got HO timing

I find it’s virtually impossible to tell anything accurate about cam specs by eyeballing the rocker arm angle. What's it out of?

We will. He broke off the 2 bolts so I’ll drill em tomorrow then we’ll get a look at the cam.

This is the fast and fun part, but remember to take your time, stay organized and keep track of everything you do. Otherwise when you go to try to reassemble the engine it may become a long expensive nightmare.

So you’ve got the M5OD Trans instead of the T5. That’s good, I think it’s stronger in stock form. As far as an HO, you may have to call the dealer and check. The truck engines I’ve seen were non-HO, but I’ve heard they exist.
